Greg Dohrmann - President

Greg currently owns and operates a regional insurance agency in Northern California. Greg, along with his wife Natalie, became involved with the ASF in 2005 immediately following their daughter Danika’s diagnosis. Greg has helped organize the Sacramento Walk site for the last 7 years which has grown to over 500 participants each year. Greg graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1998 with a degree in finance and The Hartford School of Insurance in 2001. Greg has served on the ASF board of directors since 2009 in various roles. Greg, Natalie, and their three children, Danika (deletion +), Evan, and Harper reside in Stockton, CA.

Tim Bousum - Vice President

Tim Bousum works in specialty sales with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals. He and his wife, Maiya Dos, an architect with TriPyramid Structures, have two children: six-year-old Cooper, and three-year-old Bode, who was diagnosed with Angelman syndrome in 2011. Residents of Ipswich, Mass., the Bousum family are active supporters of the Angelman Syndrome Foundation, and have raised significant funds during the last three years for the ASF National Walk site in Boston. Tim graduated from Lehigh University in 1994 with his bachelor’s in Biology.

Kathy Rokita - Treasurer

Kathy, a healthcare consultant and CPA, is mother to five-year-old Teddy, who is diagnosed with Angelman syndrome, and his three-year-old brother Ryan. Kathy began her involvement with the Angelman Syndrome Foundation through the National Walk. In her role as Vice President/Treasurer on the Board of Directors, Kathy is responsible for the ASF’s funds and finances. Kathy’s passion is in helping to connect families of individuals with Angelman syndrome to one another and generating greater understanding of Angelman syndrome. Kathy and her husband Congressman Todd Rokita reside in Indianapolis.

Justin Grill - Secretary

Justin Grill is a board-certified emergency medicine physician and covers three emergency rooms for Emergency Health Partners along Michigan’s Lake Michigan shore, and serves as Assistant Director of Medical Education for Mercy Health. A public speaker and expert regarding emergency issues with individuals with Angelman syndrome, Justin and his wife, Carrie, are parents to four-year-old Noah, who is diagnosed with Angelman syndrome, and his siblings, two-year-old Daniel and 10-month-old Hannah. The Grill family has been involved with the ASF since Noah’s diagnosis in 2011, and has held fundraisers in their hometown of Spring Lake, Mich. Justin, who is also the medical director of the Regional Simulation Lab for Mercy Health, earned his bachelor’s in biology and psychology from Calvin College and his Master in Healthcare Administration (MHA) from A.T. Still University. Justin also earned his master’s in education with a specialty in health professions education from Michigan State University, and earned his doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Jim Dalton - Director

Jim has over 25 years of experience in advertising and marketing, specializing in business development, market research and strategic planning.He founded the Dalton Agency in 1989 and has led it from start-up to over $65 million in capitalized billings. He has helped craft award-winning advertising and promotional campaigns for companies and organizations in various industries, including sports, law enforcement, education, real estate, travel and tourism, automotive, information technology, product manufacturing, and entertainment.

Jim brings a broad spectrum of knowledge and experience to any client relationship. His experience parallels several of the areas in which the firm specializes. An active member of the community, Jim serves on the board of directors for the Ronald McDonald House. He is a graduate of Jacksonville University. He also serves as president of the North American Alliance of the Advertising and Marketing International Network (AMIN), an alliance of independently owned advertising agencies that span the globe, with member networks in North America, Europe and Asia.

Dan Harvey - Director, SAC Chair

Dan Harvey was appointed to the ASF Board of Directors in 2012 and chairs the ASF Scientific Advisory Committee.

Dan has more than 20 years of experience in drug discovery research both in academia and the pharmaceutical industry. He became involved with the ASF after his son, Matthew, was diagnosed with Angelman syndrome in 1996. From 1997 to 2001, Dan was a member on the ASF Board of Directors and served as vice president from 1997 to 1999. From 1999 to 2003, he chaired the ASF Scientific Advisory Committee.

Dan is the chief operating officer of Dart NeuroScience LLC, a pharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of innovative drugs with new mechanisms of action for the treatment of learning and memory disorders. He previously held various senior management positions at other biomedical research companies including Discovery Partners International, BioFocus DPI, a Galapagos Company, and ChemVentures.

Dan earned a B.A. in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara and he holds a Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry from Yale University and was previously a member of the faculty of the University of California, San Diego. During his academic career, he was a Kent Graduate Fellow, an American Cancer Society Junior Faculty Research Fellow and an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellow.

Dan resides in San Diego, California with his wife, Karen, and has three children, Michelle, Jay and Matthew.

Steven Katz - Director

Steve Katz served as an officer or director of the ASF organization since 1997. He has served as President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer and Immediate Past-President as well as serving as a director.

Steve has served on numerous Foundation committees, represents the ASF as one of two ASF representatives on the Coalition of Patient Advocacy Groups for the Rare Disease Clinical Research Network, co-chaired the ASF Biennial Conference in Philadelphia in 1998; has volunteered for countless ASF projects and has coordinated the ASF walk-a-thon in Philadelphia for four years. Steve was awarded the 2007 Harry and Audrey Angelman Award.

Shannon Pruitt - Director

Shannon, an entertainment industry executive, is mother to three-year-old Emma, who is diagnosed with Angelman syndrome, and her twin brother Quinn. She and her husband, Scott, recently welcomed a new baby girl, Mia, to the family. Shannon became involved with the ASF shortly after Emma’s diagnosis in 2012 when she and Scott turned to the ASF for information, engaging with ASF-funded researcher Dr. Ben Philpot and ASF Executive Director Eileen Braun. Shannon is a marketing and entertainment consultant and also serves as a member on the March of Dimes Board of Directors in Los Angeles, where she resides with her family. Shannon graduated from the University of Oregon where she earned her MBA as well as her BA in Japanese.

Mary Wagstaff - Director

Born and raised in Virginia, Mary is a graduate of New York University and got her start in the hospitality industry working in acclaimed restaurants (Jonathan Waxman’s JAMS, Joe Baum’s Aurora, Gotham Bar and Grill), in cookbook publishing, and as a freelance writer. She entered the field of hospitality public relations in 1990 while living in Chicago. After moving to Los Angeles in 1998 Mary opened the doors of Wagstaff Worldwide in 1999 and found herself at the helm of a thriving public relations and marketing firm that has rapidly evolved to include offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, and New York, representing restaurant, hotel, and wine clients around the world. In addition to its client work, Wagstaff Worldwide is an active supporter of the Westside Food Bank in Los Angeles, as well as the Greater Chicago Food Depository, the San Francisco Food Bank, and Food Bank for New York City—organizations that fight hunger on a local, grassroots level. Mary is a member of the James Beard Foundation as well as Angelman Syndrome Foundation. Mary is the sister of the late, beloved researcher and clinician, Dr. Joseph E. Wagstaff. Mary has a daughter, Evie, who is 8 years old.

Charles Williams - Director

Charles A. Williams, M.D. is a Professor of Pediatrics and Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Florida. He is a board-certified pediatrician and clinical geneticist and has a special interest in neurogenetic disorders. He is a past recipient of the Harry and Audrey Angelman Award for Meritorious Service. The main focus of his research career has been in the study of Angelman syndrome. Since 1982 he has published many papers on the genetic and medical aspects of Angelman syndrome. He is also the head of the ASF Scientific Advisory Committee.

Eileen Braun - Executive Director

Eileen Braun is a graduate of Mayo School of Health Related Sciences, Rochester, MN. Prior to her career with ASF Eileen worked at the Mayo Clinic, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Bronson Methodist Hospital (Kalamazoo, MI) and Loyola University Medical Center. She began her fundraising career with ASF in 1998 and has worked for the ASF since 2001.

Eileen has been the Executive Director of the ASF since 2003. She and her husband, Tom, have four children, the oldest, 24-year-old Kaitlin, has Angelman syndrome.

Kitty Murphy Special Events Coordinator

Kitty Murphy - Special Events Coordinator

Kitty Murphy comes to the Angelman Syndrome Foundation with over a decade of non-profit event-planning and fundraising experience. Prior to her career with ASF, Kitty coordinated many large community events working as a director at two mega-churches in Naperville IL. Kitty is also very active locally in her community. For more than seven years, Kitty has been involved in the Chamber on many event committees, Board of Directors for 4 years and she served as Chairman of the Board in 2014. Kitty has been appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission for over 10 years and was recently appointed to a special events board for her hometown of Lisle, IL. 

Kitty looks forward to using her talents to grow support for the AS community through events and fundraising. Kitty and her husband, Scott, have three grown daughters who are all successfully achieving their career goals in business, family law and kinesiology.
