Dinner That Makes A Difference!
Many times we forget to spend time with the ones closest to us. Other times, we are simply “too busy” to invite that new neighbor or co-worker over for a meal. It is our hope that the 2010 Phantom Ball will inspire you to set a date, grab some favorite recipes, and have a dinner party that not only is fun but also makes a difference!
How can dinner make a difference, you ask? Easy!
- Set your date and size of party. Is this a quick week-night pizza party, or a more extended Saturday evening soiree? Looking for more ideas? Click here!
- Contact the ASF at least 10 days in advance if you wish to have ASF educational brochures on-hand at your party and need them sent to you.
- Invite your attendees. This can be as simple as another couple, or 5 friends, it is up to you! Create your own card to send to friends!
- Let them know in advance that you are holding this event in your home for the ASF, and that you would love for people to consider making a donation. (Checks payable to ASF, Angelman Syndrome Foundation)
- Choose your food. Do you want to have a potluck? Itching to try that new recipe or secret favorite?
- Know your story. Why is the ASF so important to you? How do you benefit from the relationships found through the ASF?
- Visit the ASF website to see what is new and exciting! Research, News, Mentoring, and so much more can be found online!
- Prepare for your dinner – remember it doesn’t have to be fancy to be fun!
- Enjoy your night! This is an opportunity to share more about Angelman Syndrome and answer questions people may have been afraid to ask. This is both a great time to share your story, and about the ASF.
- Thank your attendees following the night, and remind them to visit www.angelman.org to learn more!
- Share your event with us! Let us know how the dinner went; drop us a line, share pictures, post video! Do you need information to help respond to unanswered questions? Just let us know!
