Social Media Internship

Responsibilities

As a Social Media Intern, you will play a key role in promoting our organization’s mission and raising awareness about Angelman Syndrome through engaging video-based content. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Video-Based Social Media Strategy: Develop a cohesive video strategy for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok that aligns with our social media calendar. Monitor emerging trends to optimize our presence and outreach initiatives.

  • Asset Collection: Utilize our existing photo and video library to curate engaging visual assets. Identify and propose new content opportunities that enhance our storytelling efforts.

  • Storyboarding: Transform ideas into actionable plans by creating storyboards that visually represent the narrative and outline the flow of content.

  • Video Development and Editing: Produce and edit high-quality video content for our social media channels, ensuring that all material reflects our mission and resonates with our audience.

  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Analyze video performance and audience engagement metrics, providing strategic insights to refine our content and improve outreach.

  • Collaboration on Projects: Work closely with the Marketing Communications team on various community-related projects, including creative development, event planning, and writing.

  • Influencer Collaboration Assessment: Evaluate and develop actionable plans to engage micro-influencers within the rare disease community through strategic partnerships and cross-promotion.

  • Audience Engagement: Respond to audience comments, questions, and feedback to show appreciation for their engagement and foster a sense of community.

By taking on these responsibilities, you will enhance your skills in social media marketing and content creation while significantly contributing to our mission of supporting individuals affected by Angelman Syndrome.

Educational Background:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Media, Graphic Design, Art, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.

  • Open to candidates with real-world experience on social media platforms that demonstrate proven success through engagement and followers.

Social Media Skills:

  • Familiarity with major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok).

  • Competence in developing and creating video content along with social media engagement strategies.

Project Management:

  • Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Proficiency in storyboarding and narrative development to create engaging content.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for crafting compelling narratives and responding to audience interactions.

Analytical Skills:

  • Ability to monitor and analyze video performance and audience engagement metrics.

  • Capable of providing actionable insights based on data analysis.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficient in video editing applications and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva).
