*PLEASE NOTE* The Angelman Syndrome Foundation is not a clinical health provider or medical system. The clinics, medical providers, and practices listed on the registries below do not work for the ASF. They are individual providers who operate under their own practices or hospital systems, and all questions about policies, procedures, or scheduled visits should be directed to their designated representatives.
What to Expect
Access to specialized, high-quality health care is essential for individuals with AS to thrive. Therefore, anyone with an Angelman syndrome is invited to visit an ASF Clinic. Please remember each ASF Clinic is multidisciplinary, yet each has its own unique capabilities. Click a site below to find more details and what to expect.
An ASF individual or specialty practice is a group of specialized physicians who work at one location and see one type of specialty (such as a family care practice, therapist group, dental clinic, or physical therapy office) recognized by the ASF for their interest and expertise in AS or other closely related Neurodevelopmental Diseases (NDD) who have been nominated by a caregiver/family member, member of the AS Clinical Community, or self-nominated for review by the ASF Medical Advisory Council (MAC). A Provider or Specialty Practice is not a multidisciplinary clinic. Multidisciplinary clinics should go through the New Clinic Application process.

Caregivers are encouraged to reach out to coordinators or care teams listed in our registries directly to determine details about what sort of services are offered.

Clinical trials are a type of research designed to answer specific medical questions such as, is this treatment safe for patients or how well does the treatment work? The research follows a very specific process and involves testing the new drugs, medicines, or devices on real people. If you’re interested in participating, you can find the trial and contact information on the clinic location pages (not all clinics participate in all trials). You may also visit the Clinical Trials page, to find clinical trials and see the list of locations. You may also review the Frequently Asked Questions about Angelman Clinical Trials.
We know your first visit to a new ASF Clinic can be overwhelming. We want you to have the best possible experience and for you to maximize ALL the benefits ASF Clinics have to offer. Please review the Angelman Syndrome Initial Clinic Checklist for some general information on how to properly prepare for your first visit, including what documents you need to have prepared.

ASF’s Provider Referral Program is designed to connect families impacted by Angelman syndrome with valuable community resources, support, and providers treating AS. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or seeking care for specific challenges, this program aims to provide families with additional clinicians, therapists, dentists, etc., outside the ASF Clinical Network.

ASF Provider Referrals are first nominated by a caregiver/family, LLN member, or the provider themselves for review. Each nomination is given an initial check by the ASF Director of Clinical Programs for completeness and nominees who are aligned with the goals of the registry program are sent an official application form that gathers information necessary for approval by the Medical Advisory Board (MAB).
Completed applications are reviewed by the ASF Director of Clinical Programs for completeness and eligibility and those that meet requirements are passed on to the Medical Advisory Board to review at their quarterly meetings. Those who are approved are welcomed into the ASF Clinical Network and added to the Provider Registry.
Once approved for the Provider Registry, each provider or practice is is reassessed by an ASF representative every two years to ensure that they still operating, are in good standing with their licensure board(s), the provider/practice is actively seeing AS patients, and the affiliation remains mutually beneficial.
